Philadelphia police reported that a body was discovered floating in the river near Spring Garden Street at approximately 3:40 p.m. This prompted the deployment of a marine unit to the scene.
The authorities have identified the deceased as a black male in his 30s, who is commonly known as “John Doe.” Sadly, he was pronounced dead at 5:10 p.m. by Medic 13.
No signs of trauma or physical wounds were found in the preliminary assessments. Additional information will be provided as the investigation continues.
