As Catholics, this is an opportune moment for us, as Ash Wednesday coincides with Valentine’s Day. And with the tradition of abstaining from meat on Fridays, pizza often becomes the go-to option.

Since my recent move to Monmouth County, I have been gradually uncovering the many intricacies and nuances of this area, despite having some prior knowledge about it.

We were excited to check out a pizza place that was already popular even before Dave Portnoy from Barstool Sports paid a visit. It was a bonus that he enjoyed it too.

During his visit, Dave declared Brooklyn Square Pizza as the best square pizza he has ever tasted, awarding them an impressive rating of 8.9. This is significant considering that his usual preference is a round, thin-crust pie.

We were eager to experience the renowned reputation of Brooklyn Square in Manalapan, so we made the decision to pay the establishment a visit.

I have always been a firm believer that nothing can compare to the deliciousness of a square slice from L&B Spumoni Gardens in Brooklyn. However, I must admit that my opinion has recently undergone a significant transformation.

Brooklyn Square is worth mentioning for its owner, Peter, who not only runs a successful business but also bravely battles Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

As Peter was returning from the hospital, he encountered Portnoy.

The staff at this establishment is incredibly friendly, making for an amazing experience.

Brooklyn Square Pizza has multiple locations, including Manalapan.
