‘dangerous And Unacceptable Behavior’ Could Lead To Arrests In Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Car Chase

Aiexpress – A senior officer from the New York Police Department has claimed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were put in grave danger during a car chase in New York City in May.

In the documents unveiled on Wednesday regarding the outcome of the lawsuit regarding Prince Harry’s denied request for police security in the U.K., an interesting revelation emerged. The New York City Police Department sent a letter to the Metropolitan Police in London, shedding light on the reckless behavior exhibited by paparazzi during a perilous car chase involving Harry and Markle after a public event. As reported by the New York Times, the letter, issued by the NYPD’s Chief of Intelligence, confirmed the findings of an investigation into the incident.

According to the NYPD, the photographers presented a challenge, but the couple, along with Markle’s mother, managed to reach their destination safely without any reported collisions, summonses, injuries, or arrests.

The police letter, released on Wednesday, revealed the findings of their investigation, stating that they discovered a blatant disregard for vehicle and traffic laws, as well as persistently dangerous and unacceptable behavior exhibited by the paparazzi on the night in question.

According to the Daily Beast, the Chief of Intelligence stated that the individuals operating vehicles, scooters, and bicycles posed a threat to the security team. The team had to take evasive actions and follow a circuitous route to avoid being hit by the pursuing vehicles or trapped on side blocks. After reviewing the evidence with the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, it was concluded that there is enough evidence to arrest two individuals for reckless endangerment. However, the NYPD has not yet made any arrests related to the incident.

The NYPD has announced that there will be adjustments made to the security arrangements for Harry and Markle during their future visits to the city, in light of the May incident.

Following the chase, a spokeswoman for the royal couple released a statement explaining the incident: “Last night, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms. Ragland were involved in a near-fatal car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi.” This unrelenting pursuit, which lasted more than two hours, led to many near-collisions involving other automobiles, pedestrians, and two NYPD (New York Police Department) officers.

After the chase, a spokesperson for the royal couple released a statement recounting the incident: “Last night, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms. Ragland experienced a terrifying car chase orchestrated by a group of extremely aggressive paparazzi. This relentless pursuit, lasting for more than two hours, led to numerous close calls with other drivers, pedestrians, and even two NYPD officers.”

The couple has consistently voiced their dissatisfaction with the media’s invasive coverage of their personal lives. In 2019, British tabloids leaked a personal letter that Markle had sent to her father, causing significant distress. Moreover, the couple took legal action against various news outlets, accusing them of phone hacking during that same year. Their discontent with the paparazzi was also evident in their Netflix reality series, “Harry & Meghan” in 2022.
