Debris discovered on the Florida coast is thought to be from a boat carrying three missing fishermen.

ORLANDO, Fla. – In Flagler County, remnants of a boat belonging to the three missing boaters have been discovered. The Carol Ann, a 31-foot fishing boat, departed from Brunswick, Georgia on October 14th. The boat was occupied by Captain Dalton Conway, along with two crew members, Caleb Wilkinson and Tyler Barlow.

The Coast Guard initiated a search on October 20th, following a report from the boat’s owner regarding the missing fishermen. The fishermen had intended to fish in waters located 80 miles off the coast of Georgia but did not return as scheduled. Since their departure, there had been no communication with them. Despite thorough efforts spanning 94,000 square miles from Florida to Virginia, the search was eventually called off after two weeks.

The search did not detect any distress signal from the boat. According to a Coast Guard spokesperson, the Carol Ann was supposed to have an emergency transmitter that would automatically send a signal if it was submerged in water. However, it was later discovered that the boat’s distress beacon needed to be manually activated.

Despite numerous reports from other boats, no significant leads were found regarding possible sightings of the Carol Ann.
