A man with a Nebraska warrant was detained after he was discovered loading a trailer in Kansas

A man from Nebraska, who had an active warrant, was apprehended in Northeast Kansas while he was in the process of loading a trailer containing methamphetamine.

The Brown Co. Sheriff’s Office received information from law enforcement officials around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 20. They were informed that a person with an active extraditable warrant to Nebraska might have been spotted at 415 Goldengate St. in Robinson.

Law enforcement officials reported that upon their arrival, they discovered the suspect, Walter L. Cole Jr., aged 44, in the process of loading a vehicle onto a trailer located north of the residence.

The Sheriff’s Office reported that Cole was taken into custody, while K-9 Carla was summoned to conduct a search of the vehicle. The diligent canine promptly alerted the deputies to the presence of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia within the vehicle.

Cole was taken into custody and placed in the Brown Co. Jail due to his outstanding Nebraska warrant. Additionally, he was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cole is currently held in custody at Brown County Jail, and as of Thursday, no bond has been set for his release.
