KCPD has reported a shooting homicide in the Independence Plaza neighborhood

The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department swiftly responded to a homicide on Sunday morning.

At around 10 a.m., KCPD dispatchers received a report of a shooting in the vicinity of 8th Street and Olive.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a man who had sustained gunshot wounds. They promptly transported him to a nearby hospital, where it was determined that his injuries were not life-threatening.

The Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) is currently investigating a shooting incident. While the circumstances leading up to the incident are still unknown, the KCPD has deployed homicide detectives and crime scene personnel to gather information and gather evidence.
