Kentucky Man Taken Into Custody Following Drinking Fireball And Proceeding To Steal And Wreck A School Bus

LEX 18 reported Wednesday that a 26-year-old man was arrested in London, Kentucky, after admitting to stealing a school bus and driving it into a ditch while under the influence of Fireball Cinnamon Whisky.

Benjamin Driscoll was identified after wrecking the vehicle and was captured by London police. According to ABC 6, an officer reported seeing a young male clad head-to-toe in black crawl out of the debris and flee the scene of the event.

Driscoll revealed to authorities that he drank Fireball Cinnamon Whisky before hijacking a school bus from South Laurel High School, and he failed the sobriety tests. Driscoll was taken to the Laurel County Detention Center, and further inquiry revealed that he had an outstanding warrant in Indiana.

Driscoll was charged with driving while intoxicated, unlawful auto theft ranging from $10,000 to $1,000,000, “first-degree criminal mischief,” escaping the scene of an accident, reckless and negligent driving, failing to wear a seat belt, and illegal use of a school bus.

The crash is still being investigated, according to authorities.

Father Dawid Wejnerowski, a New Jersey priest, was arrested at the end of February for allegedly shoplifting at Walmart and leading police on a high-speed chase while under the influence. The priest has been accused of taking an ice cream carton and oven mitts.

Following his detention by authorities, Wejnerowski lost his job at the church. The diocese stated that he will use the time to “seek inpatient treatment out of state.
