On January 31, 2024, a man from Alabama was arrested for running over another individual and subsequently brandishing a firearm at the victim.
The official news release stated:
According to witnesses, a 2016 GMC Sierra driven by Larry Franklin Palmer, 73, was seen slowly circling the parking lot for some time. The vehicle aggressively accelerated and swerved at the 68- year-old victim. After striking the victim and knocking him to the ground, Palmer exited the truck, brandishing a revolver. The victim retreated into the store for safety.
Palmer escaped the scene before authorities arrived.
At approximately 7:30 PM, the local hospital staff contacted authorities after finding a gun in the possession of a patient. Upon arrival, officers commenced an investigation and uncovered that Palmer and the victim were engaged in a legal dispute in Tennessee.
According to an article from Alabama’s WAFF, the victim was released from the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Additionally, Palmer has been arrested on charges of attempted murder and tampering with a witness.
He is currently being held in the Lauderdale County jail, with a bond set at $60,300.
