New Orleans cops arrested Tennessee murder suspect using wig, phone records

A wig found at the scene of a crime in September led police to a Tennessee woman they believe fatally killed her client while working as a prostitute.

Nile Ward, a 26-year-old, is currently in custody at the Orleans Parish Justice Center, facing a charge of second-degree murder. On November 1, U.S. Marshals apprehended Ward in Memphis, and she was subsequently extradited to New Orleans. She was officially booked on November 28.

According to the police, Dolliole contacted Ward after coming across her phone number on a website. The two engaged in a conversation regarding the price, location, and availability of condoms for a “car date.”

According to documents filed in Criminal District Court by the New Orleans Police Department, a used condom was discovered under Dolliole’s arm, along with a black wig with purple streaks and a tiny pocketbook containing makeup and condoms. According to the records, Dolliole’s phone was also discovered a block away in a section of tall grass.

Police say Dolliole’s phone records show he called Ward after finding the phone number posted on a website. The two discussed price, location and condom supply for a “car date.”

According to police, Dolliole requested a photograph from Ward to verify her identity as the woman he had seen on the website. Ward obliged by sending a selfie of herself wearing the same black wig with purple streaks that was later discovered in Dolliole’s vehicle.

Dolliole and Ward were caught on surveillance footage meeting in a parking lot on Chef Menteur Highway on the night of September 24. The video shows Dolliole getting into Ward’s car at exactly 10:55 p.m.

Less than thirty minutes later, surveillance video showed Ward, this time with shorter hair, fleeing the crime scene on Chef Menteur and heading toward a Rodeway Inn. According to authorities, hotel records supplied her name to detectives.

Magistrate Commissioner Peter Hamilton has granted Ward bail in the amount of $500,000.

Dolliole was convicted of aggravated sexual assault in Texas in 2007. He was a registered sex offender in Louisiana.
