Oklahoma City Baseball Club Set to Rebrand, No More ‘Dodgers’

The Oklahoma City Dodgers made an exciting announcement on social media on Thursday, revealing that they will no longer be known by their former name.

In the year 2024, the team will adopt the new name, the Oklahoma City Baseball Club.

According to Michael Byrnes, president of the Oklahoma City Baseball Club, there have been multiple meetings spanning nearly two years to address the matter. “We took the time to assess the situation and explore the potential opportunities,” Byrnes explained. “We engaged with different community members and sought their input to determine if this was a viable option worth pursuing. We collaborated with various stakeholders, including season ticket holders, city officials, and other individuals invested in the brand, in order to gain a comprehensive understanding.”

In an exciting week for Oklahoma City, the group made their announcement amidst the historic passing of funding for a brand new NBA arena in the city. Additionally, Riversport OKC unveiled that the city will have the honor of hosting some trials for the highly anticipated 2024 Olympic Games.

“The Bricktown ballpark plays a vital role not just in our community, but also in the initial success of maps,” Byrnes emphasized. “The overall sentiment is that sports hold significant importance in our community, and the impact of our organization, as well as the teams, especially the Thunder, is immense. Therefore, we are committed to upholding the reputation of our team in the best possible manner.”
