Police: Man Charged With Shooting And Kidnapping Young Family Member In Maryland

Aiexpress – On Thursday, February 15, at around 9:05 p.m., authorities from the Prince George’s County Police were summoned to the 7400 block of Livingston Road in Oxon Hill in response to reports of a shooting incident outside a local business.

A man was discovered with life-threatening injuries and treated on the scene until ambulances came.

According to the police, a subsequent investigation revealed that a young girl, who happened to be a relative of the victim, had been kidnapped from the location following the shooting incident.

The suspect in the case, Wayne Summers, 62, from Oxon Hill, was identified with assistance from the department’s Aviation Section and the Metropolitan Police Department.

Police apprehended him around 11:30 p.m. on the 2600 block of South Capitol Street, where they located his vehicle.

According to the police, Summers left the girl with relatives in Washington DC before they apprehended him. Fortunately, the girl was found safe and unharmed.

According to detectives, the shooting originated from a long-standing dispute.

Summers faces charges related to the shooting incident and has also been charged with kidnapping. He is currently being held in custody in Washington DC and will be extradited to Prince George’s County.
