Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Defies Event Shutdown in Florida, Accused of Modern Day Book Burning

Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican Representative from Georgia, is not letting anyone silence her. Despite the initial cancellation by the venue, she has defiantly announced that her book-signing event will go on as planned.

In a video message, Greene confidently declared, “The Communist Democrats attempted to shut down my book signing. But they lost!” She boldly responded to the Westgate Resort’s sudden decision to cancel the event, claiming that they were unaware of its purpose.

She labeled the cancellation of her event as “Modern day book burning!” in another post.

Mark Cross, the chair of the Osceola County GOP Committee and the person in charge of the event, expressed the same sentiments as Greene. “Contrary to what some in the media have said about the event being cancelled, that is not true,” he clarified. “We are determined to proceed with the event and eagerly anticipate Marjorie Taylor Greene’s arrival in Orlando tomorrow.”

The controversy surrounding the event appears to have only strengthened the resolve to carry it out. However, there are differing opinions on this matter. Florida state Rep. Anna Eskamani (D) expressed criticism towards Greene and the GOP for honoring the violent insurrection of January 6th.

“Just another normal day in Florida, where the local Republican Party in Osceola County is organizing an ‘anniversary’ event to commemorate January 6th. Marjorie Taylor Green has been invited as the ‘special’ guest,” Eskamani expressed on social media. “I honestly thought this was a joke when I first came across it.”
