Robert Christie Sentenced To Life In Prison For Killing Joshua Mcrae In 2020

Aiexpress – Robert S. Christie, a 37-year-old resident of Trenton, New Jersey, was convicted by a jury for the first-degree murder of Joshua McRae in October, according to prosecutors.

McRae, 31, also from Trenton, was discovered by police on the shoulder of I-295 near the I-95 interchange in the early hours of January 19, 2020, according to a report by Daily Voice. Authorities revealed that he had sustained five gunshot wounds.

According to the DA’s Office, it was later discovered that McRae, Christie, and two other individuals had visited Murphy’s Beef and Ale in Bristol Township the previous night. During the drive home, McRae, who was seated in the backseat of his own SUV, made a comment under the influence of alcohol that Christie interpreted as disrespectful.

Investigators have reported that the assailant attempted to shoot McRae once more while he was on the ground, but was unable to do so as his firearm had run out of ammunition.

According to the DA’s Office, Christie, who is identified as an “admitted Blood gang member,” claimed self-defense in the trial for McRae’s murder. However, Chief Deputy District Attorney Christopher W. Rees contended that Christie is a “man of violence” who has chosen crime as his profession.

“Christie’s sentencing on Tuesday brought forth the heartbreaking words of one of McRae’s daughters, who described her father’s murder as a nightmare that tragically turned into reality. In the courtroom, his sister expressed her gratitude towards the detectives and prosecutor in Bucks County for diligently seeking justice for her beloved brother.”

Prosecutors added that in addition to the life sentence, Christie received a second term of 12-60 months that would be served consecutively.
