Snow Expected Late Friday Into Saturday: Yellow Alert Issued

Aiexpress – A Yellow Alert has been issued for a light to moderate snowfall event (1-4″) expected through Saturday morning.

Winter Weather Advisories are currently in effect for all of New Jersey.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Burlington County, Camden County, the five boroughs, and Long Island.

Timing

On Friday night, at around 2 a.m. on Saturday, a gentle snowfall is expected to make its way from Pennsylvania into western parts of New Jersey and New York City, starting closer to midnight or 1 a.m.

From 2-6 a.m. on Saturday, the most intense precipitation is expected, with the highest snowfall rates reaching approximately 0.5 inches per hour.

From 6-9 a.m. on Saturday, the system starts to break up and gradually fades away.

On Saturday afternoon, we can anticipate gusty winds reaching speeds of 25 mph. It will be a cold day with temperatures remaining in the 30s. Additionally, there may be some scattered snow showers throughout the day.

Looking ahead

Sunday will be a day of seasonal sunshine and blustery conditions. The temperatures will reach the low 40s, but it will feel more like the 30s.

On Monday, we can expect some seasonal sunshine with temperatures reaching the low 40s.
