Storm systems are expected to bring Kansas its first snowfall of the year

The year is off to a chilly and tranquil start in Wichita, Kansas. However, Storm Team 12 predicts that two storm systems are on the horizon, which are expected to bring the first snowfall of 2024 to the state.

According to Storm Team 12 Meteorologist Peyton Sanders, there is a storm system expected to come through on Thursday night and Friday morning, which will bring snow to the majority of Kansas. Sanders mentioned that while most areas will receive light snow, it is still too early to determine the exact snowfall totals.

Another system is expected to affect the state on Monday, January 8th. According to Sanders, this storm could bring a mix of rain and snow, along with potentially strong winds.

Sanders urged people to stay updated on the storm’s path as it is likely to change in the coming days.
