Aiexpress – On Wednesday afternoon, a threat against a Virginia elementary school prompted the evacuation of the building.
The Alexandria Police Department issued an alert on Wednesday, January 24 at around 1 p.m., following a reported threat against Charles Barrett Elementary School located on Martha Custis Drive.
Police officers were summoned to the building, and it is anticipated that there will be a significant police presence at and around the school for the duration of the day.
As a precautionary measure, all students and staff were being evacuated.
The police have not disclosed the nature of the threat.
