A woman has been charged with taking identities and withdrawing money from accounts in Northwest Ohio

OREGON, Ohio – Despite her appearance as a regular customer, law enforcement officials have identified her as an identity thief.

A woman is facing accusations of targeting multiple banks in Northwest Ohio and using stolen personal information to carry out fraudulent transactions.

In late November 2023, the Oregon Police reported that a woman had entered the Sun Federal Credit Union on Pickle Rd. and pretended to be an account holder. On the same day, she also targeted a bank on N. Reynolds Rd. in Toledo. According to the police, the suspect used a counterfeit passport to withdraw funds from someone else’s account during these transactions.

Last week, Oregon Police reported that security cameras had observed the presence of the same woman inside the Premiere Bank on Navarre Ave. Once again, she managed to withdraw money from the account of a legitimate customer by exploiting their personal information. According to the officers, this incident marked the second Premiere Bank that the woman targeted that day, and there is a possibility that there may be additional incidents.

Detective Sergeant Ed Depinet from the Oregon Police Department revealed that he has received reports of the individual’s fraudulent activities occurring in multiple locations across Northwest Ohio. The Clyde Police department reached out to him recently and shared photographs from a bank where the suspect had used a counterfeit passport back in November.

The Clyde Police department has recently shared several photos depicting a woman who is believed to be involved in a series of bank robberies. It is astonishing to note that this suspect has successfully targeted a total of five banks using the exact same scam.

Authorities suspect that she may have accomplices as she has been seen entering a black Honda Civic on the passenger side. If you come across her or possess any relevant information, please reach out to the police.
