“Store Closing” signs have been placed outside of another Big Lots location in New York. This raises the question of whether more stores will be closing in the near future.
Earlier this month, we reported that another major retail chain had started putting up signs in front of certain stores in New York, announcing their imminent closure. At that time, three Big Lots stores had already covered their buildings with “store closing” signs. To alert both shoppers and passersby, some stores even hired individuals to hold up signs that read “everything must go.”
Big Lots Closing New York Stores
Three out of the 68 Big Lots stores in New York that were scheduled to close soon comprised the Central Ave store in Colonie, NY, the Old Country Rd store in Riverhead, NY, and the store on North Plank Road in Newburgh, NY. An employee at the Newburgh location confirmed that the store would be closing on January 14th, 2024, as they make preparations for their move to a new location in the Mid Valley Mall near Market 32 on North Plank Road. The new store is expected to open sometime in the summer.
Another New York Big Lots Closing
A new addition to the list of stores closing soon is the Big Lots store in Rockland County. Situated at 125 Route 59 in Nanuet, NY, the store is currently adorned with signs indicating its impending closure, specifically stating “store closing, this location only.” Despite our attempts to reach out to the Nanuet store for further details regarding the timing and reason behind the closure, we were unable to obtain any information. Rest assured, we will keep you informed as soon as more details emerge.
