A heartbreaking tragedy has struck a family in Indianapolis as they grieve the loss of their beloved family member, who tragically lost their life over the weekend.
“She has shaped me into the person I am today, and she has had the same profound impact on my sister,” Justin Smith affectionately describes his mother, Shannon Lassere.
Cecilia Lassere, Shannon’s daughter, fondly remembers her mother as a loving and cherished individual who was also her best friend.
Lassere’s family spoke with WRTV on Monday, urging anyone who may have witnessed a woman entering or exiting a vehicle between 10 p.m. and 12 a.m. in the vicinity of the crime scene to contact the detectives.
We kindly request your assistance in locating the individual accountable for this, as their family is seeking justice.
Cecilia, in an interview with WRTV, expressed her disbelief and confusion after witnessing someone she knows potentially jeopardize their own well-being. She recounted feeling numb and unable to comprehend the situation.
Lassere’s death is now being investigated as the 19th homicide by IMPD in 2024. According to WRTV data, on this same date in 2023, there were 22 homicides reported.
In just 29 days of 2021, a devastating toll of 16 lives was lost.
Lassere expressed her anguish, saying, “You took my mother, someone I can never get back.”
