The Cheyenne Police Department, in collaboration with the Wyoming Fugitive Task Force, has successfully captured a prominent individual from Colorado’s most wanted sex offender list. The apprehended person, Ben Murray, was found at a hotel in Cheyenne. This arrest is a significant achievement for the law enforcement agencies involved.
On Tuesday, the Violent Offender Task Force of the District of Colorado reached out to the Wyoming authorities to begin the search for Murray. The Wyoming Fugitive Task Force took charge of the investigation, which lasted for several days. Murray, who had been using different aliases to avoid capture, was eventually found and apprehended on Thursday evening at 6:40 p.m. in a hotel on Lincolnway. The arrest went smoothly, without any complications.
Murray is currently held at Laramie County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Colorado to face charges. This arrest highlights the successful cooperation between various law enforcement agencies. The Wyoming Fugitive Task Force, which includes members from the Cheyenne Police Department, Laramie County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshals Service, Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, works together to ensure public safety and apprehend fugitives.
