The California Highway Patrol is urging people to stay away from the Shaver Lake area following a massive 30-car pile-up.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) issued a statement around 7 p.m. declaring the closure of State Route 168 between Shaver Lake and Huntington Lake due to hazardous road conditions.
Around 30 cars found themselves stranded in the snow, prompting the intervention of CHP tow trucks and Caltrans to provide assistance in freeing them.
No injuries were reported and all vehicles have been safely rescued and escorted out, officials reassured.
Caltrans is requesting the public to stay away from the area until it is deemed safe for travel.
