The storm is expected to arrive early on Thursday, bringing relatively warm temperatures. Most of the precipitation will fall as rain in areas outside the mountains. This is a much-needed rainfall for Southern Utah. Showers will begin in Southwest Utah before sunrise and reach the Northern communities by mid-morning. The storm will persist until Friday morning, bringing some winter precipitation to parts of the Wasatch Front and Cedar City. A mix of rain and snow is expected to continue through Saturday, with the snow levels dropping again on Friday night and remaining cold on Saturday.

Some parts of Southwest Utah are forecasted to receive over an inch of rainfall by the time the storm concludes on Saturday. In the mountainous regions of Southwest Utah, such as Pine Valley and Cedar Mountain, high elevations could witness more than 12 inches of snow. Moving northwards towards the Tushar Mountains, there is still a possibility of receiving 9+ inches of snow. However, the northern mountains should expect a moderate storm with approximately 6 inches of snowfall. Additionally, these mountainous areas may experience stronger winds accompanying the storm.

Another system is expected to arrive on Monday next week, which will bring even more moisture to the state. We will provide further updates as necessary.
